Morning ritual: Turmeric Water – Lemon Water 2.0

Ladies let me upgrade your morning ritual with Lemon water 2.0 = Turmeric Water! 

As earlier stated, I?m not really a morning person. But I do my best to start my day right, and in a healthy way. Normally I start my day with a lot of water, but I?ve had a lot of great experience ending my ?overnight-fast? with something ULTRA healthy. This has become part of my daily morning routine, regardless if I would later fill my body with green smoothies or coffee and croissants. I’ve tried a lot of different things, but I keep coming back to the classic Lemon Water.

I’m sure you’ve heard or found a LOT of different advice/methods, on how to start your day in the best way. I won?t be the judge on which method is better than the other, I just do what I feel like when i wake up. Costume have already done me the favor, and listed ALL of the benefits of lemon water in the morning (read here, for English: here). My recipe for turmeric water is not the only one out there, but the one I have perfected for my morning routine and taste buds. This gives the Lemon Water a healthy boost, and I’m adding honey for the flavor:)

TURMERIC WATER RECIPE:

  • 1/2 a Lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Raw Honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric
  • pinch of Black Pepper (optional, boosts some effects of the Turmeric)
  • 1 cup of Water

*All organic

DIRECTIONS:

  • Squeeze the juice from the lemon in a cup.
  • Add 1/2 a cup of water (room temperature)
  • Add Turmeric, pepper and honey
  • Fill the cup with boiling water (the temperature of the water shouldn’t bee too hot, then the vitamins in the lemon will die. But it should be hot enough for the honey to melt)
  • Stir and drink:)

TIP: Keep stirring before drinking or all the turmeric will be in the bottom.
