Reusable cotton pads – Zero waste make-up removal

Here?s an easy #zerowaste lifestyle hack, for all of you ladies out there, spending those precious 5+ minutes on make-up every morning (they could have been spend in bed, I know!). I started incorporating reusable cotton pads about a year ago, and it has been a very easy transition. I bought these handmade, Unbleached Organic Cotton Sherpa Pads from Juniperseed Mercantile, and loved them straight away. Not only do they reduce my waste with approximately 365 cotton pads a year (at least), they are also REALLY soft, and came with a hand written note, and a little wash bag (cute).

They are of course more expensive than ordinary cotton pads, even the organic ones I normally buy. But the thought of taking such an everyday waste away, was really worth it. And if you want to play the long game, this will in the end be a lot cheaper. Not only for you but also for the environment. All in all it’s an easy transition and has close to zero down sides. When I only wear a little bit of mascara, I can use the same pad for 3-5 days. I wash them together with the rest of my laundry in the small washing bag. They do get a little stained, but they are still really soft an usable after 11+ months. #simplyliving

TIP: PLEASE remove all of your make-up every night before going to bed! It really is doing your skin (and pillow case) a favor! I never sleep with my make-up on, even drunk I remove it on autopilot. #simplybeauty
