KALOBIOTIK – Rebellion Against the Throw-Away Society

SPONSORED
Thanks to an increased focus on sustainability and share-economy, a lot of great businesses and business ideas have seen the light of day. In my opinion KALOBIOTIK is one of them. Founded in 2016 by 4 dedicated Danes here in Copenhagen, KALOBIOTIK is a new online clothing rental service, here to rebel against the buy and throw-away culture.
KALOBIOTIK coorperate with some great brands, such as Filippa K, Pieszak and Dorothee Schumacher. They receive the entire collection 2-3 months before they hit the stores. With a membership you get to choose 3 styles every month, which will be personally delivered to your door. You use it for 1 month, and KALOBIOTIK comes and collects the clothes, get it cleaned and ready for the next lucky member who has reserved it. Just like in the old Blockbuster days, you get to buy the pieces cheaper when they are ?too worn? to rent out again.
I really like this idea, you get to choose some bolder styles than you would normally buy. You don?t need to be afraid that you will grow tired of the colour or fit. I?ve tested it for 2 months now and I?ve become a little addicted. It?s easy and I don?t have to think about getting anything except for what you want to rent the next month;)
This is a very luxurious way of recycling clothes. They got the inspiration from the successful www.renttherunway.com, and are still working on and growing the concept. More brands to come, and the website will launch in mid October #firstmover. Until then, here are some links you might like:)
